Meet Trauma Expert,
For over 25 years, I have worked as a psychotherapist. Yet my life changed radically about a decade ago after training in trauma treatments.
As I began to see how the nervous system works – considering the mental health and physical symptoms of my clients as unresolved effects of trauma – the healing results of my clients tripled.
It was then that I heard my own body speak, telling me that I was afraid when I thought I was just possibly numb. Connecting to mental health through the body opened me to the process of trusting my own self to heal.

Is this course backed by science?
YES! Humans have always known how to heal from trauma, but modern society has separated us from this knowledge. When you really understand the neurology of trauma and how your brain works from a scientific perspective, it may make sense of what is going on for you. When you understand how your brain can shut off your ability to think and process information, you might find that it makes sense why you get stuck in certain situations. In addition, when you understand why your brain loops on trauma, it opens the possibility to break the cycle and stop looping. Neuroscience will help you understand why your trauma symptoms are happening, and the practices will support you to heal.
What if I feel triggered or vulnerable while watching the videos?
Exploring your trauma can be triggering, so if this happens, stop the video and take some time out, connect to yourself and use your journal to uncover what may be going on. If you find that you want additional support, contact a friend to ask for support or work with a trauma therapist one on one.
Please honor and be kind to yourself as you traverse your healing journey. It takes patience to move through trauma and cultivate new levels of internal safety and self-compassion.
In Module 2, I included a video and handout to work with being triggered. In addition, there are three practical sessions in this course designed to support you in taking the first steps to healing trauma. They are gentle, life affirming and cultivate your self-compassion.

What’s the best way to take this course and how long does it take to finish it?
This course is self paced and presented in bite size videos/audios, to allow you to take it one step at a time. You might try one module per week to complete the course in 4 weeks. After the first module, you’ll be able to adjust to the pacing that is right for you.
I intend for you after each module to stop and reflect, to pause and consider. Journal after watching each module, doodle as you listen, make notes, or move your body – whatever enhances your learning. The material is carefully selected from the most important things my clients have needed to know to understand their trauma. I avoid jargon and teach complex information in a way that is personally relatable.
The 4 modules contain 4 hours of video/audio content that range from 3 minutes to 26 minutes with an average of 15 minutes. This is done to enhance your concentration and engagement.
